PURPLE Experiences are special opportunities that help participants take what they are learning about identity, confidence, leadership, healthy relationships, life skills, education, career readiness, purpose, and community — and experience those lessons in real life.

Types of Experiences
Exposure Turns Possibilities Into Something She Can See
College & Education Exposure
Campus tours, university visits, community college exposure, financial-aid education, scholarship information, and college-readiness workshops. The goal is not to tell every young woman that a four-year university is her only path — the goal is to expand what she knows is available.
Career Exposure
Connecting participants with professionals across industries before they have to choose a path. Career panels, workplace tours, career days, professional demonstrations, and approved job-shadowing experiences.
Leadership Experiences
Leadership is something she practices. Public-speaking opportunities, team-building, service projects, youth-led presentations, and confidence-building experiences where participants contribute — not simply sit and listen.
Community Service
Age-appropriate community-service experiences that develop responsibility, empathy, teamwork, community awareness, and follow-through.
Cultural & Enrichment Experiences
Growth can happen outside a classroom. Museums, theater, music, arts, cultural festivals, historical sites, and creative workshops that broaden perspective, build confidence, and encourage curiosity.
Life Skills & Financial Education
Everyday independence and age-appropriate financial learning — budgeting, banking, saving, credit education, and financial goal-setting. Knowing something and practicing it are not always the same thing.

Propose a PURPLE Experience
Businesses, employers, colleges, and community organizations may be able to host approved PURPLE Girls experiences. Workplace exposure and career experiences should be structured through BOW.
