UNBROKEN — 10th Annual Purple Passion Luncheon

10 Years of Awareness. Empowerment. Healing. Hope.

Annual Purple Passion Luncheon

For a decade, Blessing Our Women, Inc. has used the Annual Purple Passion Luncheon to bring survivors, supporters, advocates, community leaders, businesses, families, and friends together during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Purple Passion is more than a luncheon. It is a space to raise awareness, honor resilience, amplify survivor voices, connect our community, share resources, celebrate progress, and remind women that what happened to them does not have to determine what happens next.

In 2026, we celebrate 10 years of Purple Passion.

Healing, Hope & New Beginnings

Venue: To Be Announced

A Domestic Violence Awareness Month Experience

This year's theme, UNBROKEN: Healing, Hope & New Beginnings, recognizes the strength it takes not only to survive—but to heal, rebuild, rediscover yourself, and believe in what's possible beyond what you've experienced.

Why Purple Passion?

Because Awareness Should Lead to Action.

Domestic violence affects individuals, families, and communities across backgrounds and circumstances. Purple Passion was created to help turn awareness into meaningful conversation, connection, education, resources, support, and action. Through this signature BOW experience, we create room to acknowledge difficult realities without allowing violence to have the final word.

We Talk About What Happened.

We Honor Who Survived.

We Support What's Next.

Why Purple?

Royalty. Worth. Strength. Dignity.

Purple has always carried special meaning for Blessing Our Women. It represents domestic violence awareness, but for BOW, purple also represents something more. A survivor's circumstances do not diminish her worth. Purple Passion brings those meanings together—recognizing the seriousness of domestic violence while celebrating the dignity, resilience, purpose, and possibility that remain.

2026: UNBROKEN

She Survived. But Her Story Doesn't End at Survival.

"Unbroken" does not mean untouched. It does not mean there were no wounds, losses, difficult days, or moments when rebuilding felt impossible. For BOW, UNBROKEN represents the truth that adversity can become part of a woman's story without becoming the entirety of who she is.

HEALING

Giving ourselves permission to acknowledge what happened, care for ourselves, seek support, and move forward at our own pace.

HOPE

Believing that circumstances can change, possibilities still exist, and tomorrow does not have to look like yesterday.

NEW BEGINNINGS

Creating space to rebuild, rediscover, redefine, and step intentionally into what's next.

Healing Doesn't Erase the Story. It Changes What Gets Written Next.

Survivor Voices

Her Story. Her Voice. Her Choice.

Survivor stories have always been an important part of domestic violence awareness. But BOW believes survivor storytelling should also protect a survivor's dignity, privacy, autonomy, and right to decide what parts of her story become public. No survivor should feel obligated to publicly disclose her experience simply because she receives support, participates in a BOW program, attends Purple Passion, or is recognized by the organization. When survivor stories are shared publicly through BOW, appropriate permission and consent should be obtained.

We don't own her story because we supported her.

Who Should Attend?

Purple Passion Is for the Community.

You do not have to be a domestic violence survivor to attend. Purple Passion welcomes survivors, family members, friends, advocates, professionals, community leaders, businesses, organizations, faith communities, supporters, and individuals who simply want to learn and stand with those affected by domestic violence.

You don't have to know exactly what to say. Sometimes showing up is where support begins.

Celebrating 10 Years

A Decade of Purple Passion

The 10th Annual Purple Passion Luncheon represents an important milestone for Blessing Our Women, Inc. For ten years, Purple Passion has provided a space where domestic violence awareness and survivor empowerment can exist alongside hope, fellowship, education, recognition, connection, and celebration.

It's about honoring every conversation started, every survivor encouraged, every supporter who showed up, and every person who left understanding a little more than when they arrived.

Featured Speakers

Avis' Legacy at Purple Passion

The Award Happens in June. The Celebration Continues in October.

Recipients of the Avis' Legacy Scholarship are selected and notified during the last full week of June. Scholarship recipients receive complimentary admission to the Annual Purple Passion Luncheon, where BOW has the opportunity to celebrate their educational accomplishments and future goals. Public recognition is handled with appropriate consideration for the recipient's privacy and consent.

A scholarship recipient should never have to publicly identify herself as a domestic violence survivor simply to be celebrated for her accomplishment.

Community Resources

Awareness Should Connect People to Help.

Purple Passion isn't intended to simply tell people that domestic violence exists. Where appropriate, BOW uses the event to connect attendees with information, education, community organizations, and resources that may help individuals or families affected by domestic violence.

Need Help Before the Event? Do not wait for Purple Passion to seek assistance.
